Data Collection Quizzes
Quizzes are a great way for companies to gather data on you, and to generate sales leads for themselves.
The "Which Therapy Dog Are You?" quiz shown here is a great example. The Children's Hopsital Los Angeles used this to get names and email adresses of 31,600 people and because they received $1 for each completed quiz (when it was running) they raised over $30,000 at the same time.
This was a genuine quiz, with nothing hidden, but other companies use similar games and quizzes to gather data that they then sell to other companies.
Criminals also use the same approach to gather data on people. When criminals do so, there are often questions about where did you first live, or what was your first pet, or where is you favourite place. They ask these questions as the answers are often used as security checks for banks etc.
