The Data Protection Act 2018 governs who can access data, regulations on the validity of that data, the selling of data, and the removal of data.
The Computer Misuse Act 1990 protects people from malicious computer users, and covers hacking, inappropriate access to data, and the hijacking of computer systems.
The Copyright, Design, and Patents Act 1988 are laws that allow you to protect the things you create, and cover the licences you can apply to them. Creative Commons is a set of licences allowing usage of works.
The Trade Marks Registration Act 1994 provides exclusive rights to the use of a trademarked word, image or graphic, and protects against it being used by others.
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 is a set of laws introduced to prevent government secrecy.
