Social Media and Social Networking sites are websites and applications where you can create and share content with people you know.The popular sites include:
- Facebook (less popular with teenagers)
- Tik Tok
- You Tube
- Twitter (less with teenagers)
- Snap Chat (isn't a full social media site but..)
- Twitch (especially gamers)
- Pinterest (less so with teenagers)
- LinkedIn (for professionals)
There are also other popular communication apps
- Whats App
- Discord
And conferencing apps like
- Zoom
- House Party
All of these apps let users share information, and so expose users to increased risk of sharing information they would be better not too. Also, the organisations collect and use your data (with your permission)
