Spyware
Spyware is software that "spies" on your computer. It is one of the most common types of Malware.

It captures information like where you go on the internet, what websites you visit, how long you spend on them, the usernames and passwords you type in , and any credit card information. It then sends this data to another person's computer. It can also read your email messages and social media posts and message and gather information from them.

It may reset your internet homepage and change your search engine. It will slow your internet browsing down, and will ultimately slow your computer down.

Some of the most common ways for your computer to become infected include:

  • pirating media, including software, games, videos and music
  • downloading materials from unreliable sources
  • accepting a pop-up advertisement or pop up message
  • opening email attachments from unknown senders.

Use anti-virus software and anti- malware software to remove Spyware.
