iMedia Overview
The Creative iMedia course is aimed at young people who are interested in either using their creative skills on the computer, or are considering going into the creative industry.
The course is split into 4 units, each of which is worth 25% of the final grade:
In R081 you learn about a range of essential pre-production techniques used in the creative and digital media, including client brief, time frames, deadlines and preparation techniques such as mind maps, moodboards, scripts, storyboards etc. You also learn about laws that impact on these things.
In RO82 you focus on digital graphics and explore where and why they are used and the techniques that are involved in their creation, You respond to a brief to plan and make your own digital graphic.
In RO84 (we don't do R083), you focus on comic strips and explore different genres of comic strip and how they are created. before planning and creating a comic strip to meet specific requirements.
In R085 you focus on Multimedia Websites, looking at their properties, how they are accessed, their purpose and features before going on to plan and make your own websites to meet a brief.
The links provide support material for a lot of the theory needed on this course - but are not intended to be used exclusively - use your lesson notes and revision guides too. There is also a page on the project development cycle, which whilst not technically part of the course, is a useful idea that helps visualise how the process fits together and why you need to do certain steps.
