Watching Live Streams
Looking at anything on the interent can be risky as you will come across content that just is not suitable for you.

This risk is greater (in my opinion) when you are watching a live stream as nobody has checked what is about to happen on the stream. This can lead to you seeing inappropriate or explicit content that may upset, offend or even scare you.

All of the following have been seen in Live Streams:

  • terror attacks, beheadings and bombings
  • cruelty to humans and animals
  • self-harm and encouraging others to do so
  • content that promotes anorexia and eating disorders as a way to lose weight (which is a very dangerous idea)
  • content that actively promotes suicide as a way to deal with your problems (which literally costs young people their lives)
  • sexual abuse and rape
  • other violent and distressing content
  • hate against a particular religion, or belief, or race, or sometimes a person or group of people, and links to sites doing the same
  • online pornography

Think before you access a Live Stream.
If someone shows you sexual content in a live stream, report it to CEOP
