Combining Shapes
One of the nice features of Vector graphics software is that you can combine shapes to make new shapes.

There are 4 different combine tools (they are covered in the video which helps make sense of what they do):

  • Unite / Add - joins two shapes together to make a new, bigger shape
  • Subtract - cuts one shape out of the other to make a new smaller shape
  • Intersect - only keeps the bit of the shapes that is overlapping
  • Exclude - exact opposite of intersect, keeps all of the shapes except the bit that is overlapping
