Validation - Drop Down Lists
Validation is when you limit the possible data that can be put into a cell on a spreadsheet (or another data holding structure such as a Variable in programming). Validation stops people entering data that is "not allowed" .

A common form of data entry is a dropdown list.This can be very useful when working with forms, questionnaires etc. or to just speed up data entry , and reduce the amount of errors. It also avoids the problem of having different version of the same answer eg "MALE", "Male", "male" all are correct but if we are using automatic counting (using something like CountIf) then they are seen as three different answers.

 
Example:

On this simple questionnaire, there are 3 questions. Let’s look at them in turn. The first question Gender has 2 possible answers, Male or Female
